I created Stoop Alert to modernize the New York City tradition of "stooping," turning a chaotic scavenger hunt into a reliable community exchange. The platform addresses a specific gap in the local circular economy: quality furniture and usable items often end up in landfills simply because the right person didn't find it in time. By connecting New Yorkers seeking specific items, with others ready to discard, the app creates a real-time free marketplace that ensures good finds are claimed before they are ruined or sent to a landfill.
Building this product from scratch required me to execute every phase of development, from initial strategy to the final pixels. I started by conducting user surveys and field studies to understand the core problem, discovering that location matters immensely, and the thrill of the hunt is visual. This insight led me to re-design the user flow, pivoting from a standard map interface to a visual-first "Browse Images" feed. I established the complete brand identity, designed the logo, and crafted the user interface, ensuring the aesthetic captured the energy of the city while remaining intuitive enough for users to scroll, post, and claim items in seconds.
